What are adult memory kits?

Adult memory kits are designed to help individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments reminisce and encourage discussions with loved ones.

Adult memory kits incorporate the sense related to specific themes. These themed kits include a variety of hands-on activities to help promote mental and emotional stimulation. The main goal of the kits is to obtain any sort of response to the stimuli provided to them.

What's in a memory care kit?

Each kit contains an informational sheet about the kit (which includes suggested activities), sensory objects, memory games and/or puzzles, fidget toys, reminiscence aids and other items related to the kit’s theme.

How long can I keep a kit?

Kits can be on loan for PCDL’s standard lending period, which is (2) two weeks and can be renewed up to (5) five times. Renewals can be made by calling the Outreach office.

What are the types of memory care kits?

They aren't in the catalog, how do we request them?

Call Outreach Services at 1-800-500-5179 ext. 220 to request a complete listing of our themed kits, which we can either mail to you or we can send a complete listing (enclosed in an envelope) for pickup at the closest PCDL branch location. Or you can download the brochure, and call Outreach Services to request some of the kits.

Once you receive a listing of kits, contact us again and we will arrange for the adult memory care kit you request be delivered to the PCDL branch location closest to you.
